Specialist Charles A. Young
FORT HOOD, Texas – Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier found dead from an apparent gunshot wound April 4 2011 inside a vehicle in Temple, Texas.
Specialist Charles A. Young, 24, whose home of record is Elkhart, Ind., joined the military in September 2006 as a military intelligence systems maintainer and integrator and was assigned to Company B, 15th Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Hood, since August 2010.
Young deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from March to September 2010.
Young’s awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon.
Circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.
