Chief Warrant Officer Mark Jeffcoat
Post officials have released the name of a Soldier who died March 17 2009 in Killeen, Texas from an apparent gunshot wound. Chief Warrant Officer Mark Jeffcoat, 33, of Swansea, S.C. was found at his residence in Killeen.
Emergency medical technicians responded to the incident. Chief Jeffcoat was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The warrant officer entered the military in September, 1993 and was assigned to Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, Warrior Transition Brigade at Fort Hood since June, 2007.
Chief Jeffcoat’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, and the Air Assault Badge.
