Christmas and New Year services listed here

Salado area churches will have special services for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as well as New Year’s Watch Night Services.

First Baptist Church of Salado will have a candelight service, Carols, Communion and Candlelight, at 6 p.m. Dec. 24. 

Salado United Methodist Church  will have several Christmas Eve services: An early service at 4 p.m. Dec. 24 is especially geared toward children and their families. Traditional Christmas Eve Worship services with communion and candlelight will be held at the following times on Dec. 24: 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Salado Church of Christ will not have classes on Dec. 24. For Christmas Eve, they encourage their congregants to visit family or other area churches for candle light services on Dec. 24.

St. Stephen Catholic Church will have the following services on Christmas Eve:  5:30 p.m. Mass Dec. 24 and Midnight Mass at midnight Dec. 24. Christmas Day, there will be a 9 a.m. Mass and a 10:30 a.m. Mass on Dec. 25.

St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church will have two Christmas Eve services with Hymns, Carols Eucharist and. A service without incense will be held at 4:10 p.m. Dec. 24 and a service with incense will be held at 8:40 p.m. Dec. 24.

The Presbyterian Church of Salado will have a Candlelight Service at 6 p.m. Dec. 24.

3C Cowboy Fellowship will have a  Christmas Eve Candlelight service at 5 p.m. at the church on Dec. 24.

New Year’s Celebrations

Cedar Valley Baptist Church invites you to its Watch Night Service, which will begin at the church on FM 2843 at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 31 and continue past midnight. Bring your favorite main dish or side dish for a potluck supper during the night.

Salado Church of Christ plans to ring in the New Year on Dec. 31 starting at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome! The celebration  will start with devotional and then fellowship along with finger foods and games. Bring your favorites. At midnight, they  will go to the auditorium and “Ring” in the new year for 2015. Let Kathy Keyes know if you will be there.

St. Stephen Catholic Church will bring in the new year with a solemn day of obligation with a Vigil Mass at 7 p.m. Dec. 31. New Year’s Day, a Mass in English will be held at 9 a.m. and a Mass in Spanish will be held at  10:30 a.m.

First Baptist Church will not hold its midweek services on Dec. 31.
