Get to Christmas in October early so you won’t miss out.
That’s the best advice veterans can give newcomers to Christmas in October, slated for 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 7-8 at The Venue by Inn on the Creek.
That is when you will find some of the best baked goods you will ever see, smell or taste, made by the bakers of Salado each year for this event.
There will be an array of pies, cakes, cookies, holiday candies and specialty breads for you to take home and to share with friends (if you are so inclined).
Christmas in October is also one of the best places to see “the latest” Christmas decorations and styles all on display in a charming setting.
Admission is $3 per adult. This annual event is a preview to the Christmas season and will feature the wares of local and area merchants on display inside a beautiful setting at The Venue on College Street.
The Christmas in October Bake Sale is a tradition many look forward to each year! Customers will enjoy wandering through the booth area and the bake sale area all in the same facility.
A Style Show will be provided again this year. Models will feature fall fashions from local boutiques as well as out of town merchants. The “strolling time” for the models will be late morning and early afternoon on both days of the Friday and Saturday event.
In addition, vendors will display their special and unique Christmas decorations, jewelry, clothing, gifts, food, and home décor specialty items.
“This year, we look forward to utilizing the expanded booth area with the addition of The Venue covered porch area. Customers will enjoy the booths and the bake sale being in the same building. Vendors know Salado’s Christmas in October attracts a large crowd each year of early Christmas shoppers,” states Christmas in October co-chair, Tommye Prater.
“On Saturday, October 8, we are delighted to have a select group from the Salado Community Chorus stroll through The Venue at 10 a.m. singing Christmas arrangements. The Style Show is always a fun event as models feature the latest fall fashions,” said Deborah Roberson, Christmas in October co-chair.
The Village trolley will be available to transport visitors from several Village parking areas to the entrance of The Venue.
