Christmas in October this weekend in Salado
Christmas in October is planned for Oct. 12-13 as an introduction to the Christmas season with all the sights, sounds, smells, tastes and charms of the Village of Salado. Local artisans and shop keepers will display their wares inside the Conference Center at the Historic Stagecoach Inn which is climate controlled.
You will find some great baked goods to keep for the holidays, prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary members. Fall fashions by local boutiques will be shown by models strolling through the building late morning and early afternoon both days of the Friday and Saturday event. Those stores having models are Christy’s of Salado, Springhouse, Sofi’s, Panache, Magnolias and Castillo’s from out of town. The vendor list with booths includes Charlotte’s of Salado, Side by Side, Christys, Castillo Designs, Antique Rose of Bell, Irresistible You, Rinska’s Purses on the Go, Magnolias, Panache, Beadstringer, Springhouse, Fussy Mussy Designs, Connie’s Fine Gifts, Salado Presence, Nannie and Pal, Sofi’s, Angelic Herbs, and Tom Kay’s Clocks. On display will be a wide array of treasures including Christmas decorations, jewelry, clothing, gifts and home decor items. “We were able to secure vendors for all our booths without difficulty this year since the vendors know we attract a very large crowd of early Christmas shoppers,” stated co-chairman Tommye Prater. Mill Creek Community Association has offered to sponsor the golf carts needed to transport visitors from several parking areas near the Stagecoach Inn. The Salado Ladies Auxiliary is a volunteer driven, not for profit organizations that funds local community organizations. Money earned is given back to such organizations as the Fire Department, the Humane Society, the Community Chorus, to name a few. Local scholarships for college or technical school are also given from these funds.”
