The Gov. Samuel Mathews Colonial Dames XVII Century Chapter recently met at the Grace Presbyterian Church in Temple.
Registrar, Jane Debenport, introduced the guest, Kathy Sartor; two members of the Peter Folger, Waco CDXVIIC Chapter, Naomi Mangum and Neil Wiese. Other guest included the David Pryor family.
Patsy Parmer, Scholarship Chair, presented a scholarship to Joy Pryor, a senior at Salado High School.
The program, “Colonial Music,” was presented by Jane Debenport. Jane explained the use of ‘Meterical Hymns,’ by the colonist. Mrs. Debenport explained how music is ingrained in our souls.
The State Board of Management will meet in September at the Temple Hilton Garden Inn. The next Chapter meeting will be in October.
