Stella Pearl Cromeans Hughes, age 88, of Harker Heights, died Jan. 6 at her residence.
Services for Mrs. Hughes were held Jan. 9 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Belton with Rev. Luther Townsend, Rev. Floyd Franks and Rev. Ron Lindsey officiating. She was buried in the Cedar Valley Cemetery, southwest of Salado.
She was born Feb. 10, 1912 in Bell County to Joseph Andrew and Emma Rachel (Calder) Jackson. She grew up in Cedar Valley and lived in Oakalla and Maxdale before moving to Harker Heights 18 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Belton. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marga Lindsey in 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Brooks, of Killeen and Willie Langenegger, of Salado; one brother, Floyd Jackson, of Cedar Valley; one sister, Jewel Lang, of Belton;
Seven grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Dossman Funeral Home of Belton was in charge of arrangements.
