Dagmar Hooten
Services for Dagmar Hooten, 67, of Salado will be a private gathering of friends. Her ashes will be scattered by Jim and Lora Hansen of Killeen.
A twenty-five year survivor of ovarian cancer, Mrs. Hooten died on January 4, 2010 at her residence in Salado. She was born on October 21, 1942 in Berlin, Germany during WWII to Karl Otto Hermann Hans Schultz and Kathe Elsa Lohse.
Dagmar attended school in Berlin and graduated as a Dental Technician. Many years later she met and married Donald Hooten, a Colonel in the US Air Force, moved to the United States and became a naturalized citizen where she continued to work as a Dental Technician. Retiring from the dentistry field, Dagmar became an Army and Air Force Exchange Services Representative, supplying Ft. Hood and Ft. Sam Houston.
After moving to Salado, Dagmar made fine jewelry with precious gems which she sold through some of the Salado Shops.
Preceded in death by her husband, parents, and daughter, she is survived by a son Milton Hooten of Granbury, TX and a granddaughter.
Broecker Funeral Home in Salado is in charge of the arrangements.
