SGT Dennis L. Lee
FORT HOOD, Texas — Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died after becoming ill during unit physical training Aug. 26 2011.
Sergeant Dennis Lamont Lee was transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased by the Justice of the Peace. The exact cause of death is undetermined at this time.
Lee, 37, whose home of record is listed as Detroit, Mich., entered active-duty service in May 2006 as a cannon crewmember. He was assigned to 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, since November 2007.
Lee deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from November 2007 to January 2009.
Lee’s awards and decorations include two Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, Valorous Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with three campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, one Combat Action Badge, and a Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver Wheeled Vehicles.
