Feb. 3 services held for Capt. Jerry V. Dixon

Funeral services for Capt. Jerry V. Dixon. 67, of Salado, were held Feb. 3 at Grace Baptist Church -of Salado with Rev. John Worden officiating.

Capt. Dixon was buried in Salado Cemetery.

Capt. Dixon died at his residence Jan. 31.

He was born to Velza L. and Alma Inglish Dixon in Vinita, Oklahoma. He graduated from Vinita High School and Okla­homa University. He lived in Texas for almost 30 years, the past three in Salado. He lived in Conroe for 25 years before movingto Salado.

He served as a captain in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Salado.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Dixon, of Salado; a daughter, Lisa Eckstrum, of Salado; a son, Larry Dixon, of Spring; a sister, Joan Marsh, of Phoe­nix, Anzona; a brother, Merle Dixon, of Vinita; and four grandchildren.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Salado was in charge of arrangements.
