Dorothy Ann (Redding) Russell, age 85, passed away October 2, 2012 at a Temple hospital after a brief illness.
She was born November 5, 1926 in Leesburg, Texas, and was the daughter of the late Clayton Wayne Redding and the late Era Mae (Blount) Herring.
She married Edward Russell, also of Leesburg, in 1944, and after World War II they made their home together in Pittsburg. She worked for the First State Bank, later Pilgrim Bank, in Pittsburg for over 40 years. She and her husband were active members of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg, and she was also a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.
After her husband died in 2007, she moved to Salado in 2009 to be near her children and grandchildren. She became an active member of First Baptist Church, Salado.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sharon Russell of Spring Branch, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Diann and Randy Anderson of Salado, and her sister and brother-in law, Patty and Lonnie “Bo” Pilgrim of Pittsburg.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sister, Peggy Miskotten.
Funeral services were held Oct. 5 in the chapel of the Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg with the Reverend Kyle Smith officiating; burial followed at the Leesburg cemetery.
