Dottie Oliver, 73, of Salado, TX, passed away October 13, 2013 from her courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 210 E. 24th Avenue (Main Street), in Belton.
The family will see visitors at the church prior to the service, starting at 1 p.m.
Born July 24, 1940, in Houston, TX to Curtis and Sylvia Dugas, Dottie graduated from Snyder High School and attended the University of North Texas, in Denton, where she studied Elementary Education and met her husband, Joe Oliver. They were married July 23, 1960, recently celebrating 53 years. Dottie gave birth to their only child, Joanna, on December 17, 1975.
She was a member of Conroe Service League, Catholic Teresian Community, Garden Club, Ladies Auxiliary and the Salado Mentor Program.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; daughter, Joanna Oliver of College Station; two sisters, Jane (Devane) Jones of Odessa, TX, and Janet (Richard) Hayes of Comanche, TX; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Sylvia Dugas; niece, Deanna Douglas; nephew, Steven Hayes, Sr.; and great-niece, Alyssa Douglas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
