With a 2-1 win over the Florence Buffaloes on the road, Salado Eagles varsity soccer team holds on to second place in district play and qualified for the playoffs.
Forward Brandon Rodriguez scored a goal. Midfielder Sterling Curnutt scored a goal. Forward Daniel Magadan had an assist in the game.
“The team worked hard and played for each other to win this game,” Coach Michael Goos said. “We had two really nice goals, and the players adjusted to the field conditions and came up with a really big win for us.”
The Eagles are 12-5 overall and 5-2 in district play.
Overall Record: 12-5 overall; 5-2 district.
The Eagles were scheduled to play Jarrell at 4 p.m. on the road March 8.
