Salado Eagles are 6-4 on the year and undefeated in district play with two wins after beating Smithville and Lorena last week.
Salado blasted Smithville on the road for five goals while holding the Tigers scoreless on Jan. 30 in a district game.
Midfielder Scout Pucket led the team with two goals and an assist. Forward Costas Loullis scored a goal and an assist.Defensive Midfielder and Outside Midfielder Josh Lesley both scored goals on penalty kicks. Outside Midfielder Brandon Rodriguez contributed an assist in the game.
Salado scored three goals to get past the Lorena Leopards at home Jan. 27 in a shutout 3-0.
Rodriguez scored a goal and had an assist while Loullis and Midfielder Danial Magadan each scored a goal in the game. Midfielder Scout Pucket had two assists in the game.
“This team is improving and learning from every match we play. They work hard in practice, and are really coming together as a team,” Coach Michael Goos said. “They are a fun group of players to watch.”
Despite having several shots on goal, the Salado JV boys soccer team lost 1-0 to Gatesville last week. They will play again on Feb. 9 against Lampasas JV Badgers.
