Salado varsity Eagles soccer team placed fourth at the Marble Falls tournament Jan. 9-10 with a 3-0 forfeit win over Shoemaker and losses to Marble Falls junior varsity and varsity teams and a loss to Copperas Cove in the consolation final.

The boys lost to the Marble Falls JV 2-0 in the first round. They lost to the host varsity squad 1-0 in the second round. The boys had a 3-0 forfeit win over Shoemaker. Salado lost 1-0 to Cove.

John Dawson (defender); Daniel Magadan (center midfielder); Cameron Markham (defender) received All Tournament Team honors.

“This is a young team because we graduated 11 seniors last year,” Coach Michael Goos said. “This group is extremely talented, and worked hard to rise to the challenge of playing more seasoned teams.”

Salado is 1-3 so far following the tournament.
