Playing 5A and 6A teams, the Salado Eagles soccer team went 1-3 in the Temple soccer tournament Jan. 8-9.

Salado lost in the first round to the Killeen Kangaroos 3-2. Manual Magadan scored a goal on a corner kick.

John Dawson scored the second goal for the Eagles with an assist from Magadan.

Goalie Trey Sheppard had nine saves in the match.

The Eagles shut out Grand Prairie in the second round 2-0.

Brandon Rodriguez and Daniel Magadan both scored goals for Salado.

Trey Sheppard had seven saves in the match.

The Eagles lost to Bastrop 3-2 in the third round. Costas Loullis scored both goals for the Eagles.

Midway shut out the Eagles in the fourth round of the tournament 5-0.
