Salado Eagles are 3-4 in district after losing a home game to the Taylor Ducks 5-2 on April 1.
Salado scored a run in the bottom of the fourth. Caden Strickland tripled to right field with one out. He scored on a single to left by Dillon McDaniel who was left stranded.
Drew Bird scored a run in the bottom of the sixth after hitting a triple to deep left field. He scored on a sacrifice fly by Strickland to get within a run of Taylor.
After scoring two runs in the top of the seventh, Taylor handled the three remaining batters in the bottom of the frame for the win.
Salado had four hits in the game. Strickland had a hit, an RBI and a run. McDaniel had a hit and an RBI. Bird had a hit and run. Josh Adams also had a hit in the game.
Strickland was issued the loss on the mound, pitching 4 1/3 innings. He allowed seven hits. He struck out eight and walked three. Taylor scored three earned runs against Stricland. McDaniel pitched 2 2/3 innings. He allowed two hits and struck out five. Taylor had two earned runs.
Isaac Rivera got the win for Salado and struck out 10 Eagles. He allowed four hits and two earned runs.
