Salado Eagles lost two district basketball games on the road last week, a 52-49 nail biter to the Lampasas Badgers and a 59-84 loss to the state-ranked Taylor Ducks.

Salado couldn’t overcome a seven point first quarter deficit, losing on the road to the Lampasas Badgers 49-52 on Jan. 29.
The Eagles trailed 22-28 at the half and 34-40 at the end of the third.
Preston Rosebrock hit three three-pointers on the way to a 20-point game. He was seven-of-seven at the free throw line.
Justin Tatum followed with 15 points, also perfect at the free throw line with five shots.
Also scoring for the Eagles were Anthony Young, nine points, Evan Wall, two points and Peyton Kyburz and Jeremy Jarvis, one point each.
Daniel Hurst led the Badgers with 22 points, followed by Jason Murphy, 15 points.

Salado Eagles kept up with the fast-moving Taylor Ducks trailing by just one point in the first, 21-22, but couldn’t maintain the pace in the second quarter when the Ducks outscored the Eagles 23-11 for a 45-32 halftime lead.
Taylor extended that lead in the second half, winning the game 84-59.
Preston Rosebrock led the Eagles with 26 points. He hit four three-pointers in the first quarter alone, scoring 16 of his 26 points in the first quarter.
Anthony Young and Peyton Kyburz followed with eight points each for the Eagles. Also scoring were Justin Tatum, seven points, Trevor Stump, five points, Luke Miller, three points and Jeremy Jarvis, two points.
B.J. Tealer led the Ducks with 18 points, followed by Damarcus Fields, 13 points, Malik Jackson, 12 points and Xavier Washington, 10 points.
