Salado Eagles started district play March 22 hoping to end a three-game losing streak with a road game against the Lampasas Badgers. The game was held after presstime for this edition of the newspaper.
Lorena scored two runs in the eighth inning and stopped the Eagles from scoring in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-2 win from Salado on March 15.
Salado took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth. Cody Wolf led off the bottom with a single to center. He advanced on a wild pitch and went to third on a ground-out by Ryan Dunnahoo. With two outs, Wolf stole home.
Lorena tied the game in the top of thg fifth. Caiden Livingston singled, went to second on a wild pitch and reached third on a Jacob Spivey single. He scored when Haden Schraeder hit into a fielder’s choice.The Leopards took the lead in the top of the seventh after Nick Urbantke reached on an error, advanced on a groundout and scored on a to deep left by Schraeder.
Salado knotted the game in the bottom of the inning. Dunnahoo reached and courtesy runner Jeremiah Combs stole second. Stolc walked and both runners advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Drew Dobbins. Peyton Kyburz single to right to score Combs. Stolc was thrown out trying to reach home for the final out of the inning.
Mitchell Donahue and Urbantke reached on a walk and a fielder’s choice. Donahue scored on an RBI single by Colby Reed and Urbantke scored on a single by Livingston.
Salado had five hits in the game with Preston Payne getting two and Wolf, Kyburz and Phillip Ellis each getting one.
Kyburz got the loss on the mound for Salado, allowing three hits and three runs in his appearance. He struck out two. Dobbins struck out four in his two innings of work. Ryan Oakes struck out one and Wolf struck out two and allowed one run on two hits.

La Grange scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to steal a game from Salado at home March 18.
Salado led 2-0 after the first. Preston Payne led off the game with a single to left. He advanced on a sacrifice grounder by Drew Dobbins and scored on a double by Cody Wolff.
Ryan Dunnahoo doubled to score Wolf, but was left stranded on second base.
Garrett Lightfoot double to left with two outs in the fifth inning. He scored on a single by Ryan Oakes. Oakes was left stranded on third.
La Grange scored in the bottom of the first after Noah Blackwell reached on a dropped third strike. He went to second on a sacrifice bunt and third on a passed ball, scoring on a single by Carson Svrek.
Blackwell scored in the fourth after singling to right. He scored on a single by Weston Aymond to tie the score at 2-2.
Trailing by one in the bottom of the sixth, La Grange scored two runs after Corey Golan and Carson Svrek were put on base by a walk and a hit batter. Both runners stole base to put runners on second and third. Golan scored on a groundout to the pitcher and Svrek stole home before the final two outs were recorded.
Drew Dobbins was issued the loss for the Eagles allowing runners into scoring position in the sixth.
