Salado Eagles cut through the competition at the Jarrell Cougars Invitational tournament until they ran into the homeschoolers from Round Rock in the final round, having to settle for second place overall.

In the first round, Salado gave coach Kenny Mann his 400th career win, beating Brentwood 50-43.
After tying at 12 in the first, Salado held a 27-18 halftime lead, but Brentwood closed it to 36-33 after three.
Peyton Miller led Salado with 19 points, followed by Josh Goings, 15 points and Cade Scallin, 12 points, Eli Pittman, 4 points and Reece Brown, 2 points.

Australia 30
The Eagles beat a high school team visited the states from Australia 56-30.
Salado led 30-18 at the half and outscored the Australians 17-8 in the third.
Cade Scallin led Salado with 25 points. Also scoring were Eli Pittman, 8 points, Latrell Jenkins, 7 points, Josh Goings, 6 points, Peyton Miller, 5 points, Austin Abel, 3 points and Reece Brown, 2 points.

Killeen JV 48
Salado exploded for 26 points in the first quarter against the JV squad from Killeen- and extended the lead to 47-30 at the half. The Eagles won the third round game 75-48 over the JV Roos on Dec. 13.
Reece Brown led Salado with 19 points, scoring 15 of them in the first half. Eli Pittman followed with 12 points. Also scoring were Peyton Miller, 9 points, Josh Goings, 9 points, Latrell Jenkins, 7 points, Austin Abel, 7 points, Cade Scallin 7 points, Caleb Self, 3 points, and Noah Mescher, 2 points.

Round Rock HS 65
The homeschoolers from Round Rock beat Salado in the final round of the Jarrell Tournament to win the championship on Dec. 14.
The game stayed close throughout as Salado held a 13-12 edge in the first quarter before giving up 20 points in the second to trail 32-28 at the half. The Eagles scored 13 in the third while the Rockets score 14 for a 46-41 advantage going into the final quarter.
Eli Pittman hit three three-pointers to lead Salado with 17 points. Also scoring for the Eagles were Peyton Miller, 12 points, Cade Scallin, 11 points, Reece Brown, 8 points, Josh Goings, 7 points and Noah Mescher, 1 point.
