Salado Eagles won four straight in the Coach Smith Memorial Tournament, keeping the championship trophy in Salado. Eli Pittman was named Tournament MVP. Cade Scallin, Austin Abel, Reece Brown and Josh Goings were all named to the All-Tournament Team.

Salado trailed at the end of the first quarter in their blow-out of Jarrell in the first round of the tournament, winning 58-36.
The Cougars led Salado 10-9 after one, but the Eagles poured in 18 points in the second while holding the Cougars to 10 points for a 27-20 lead. Neither team put up much in the third, but Salado added to its lead 34-24 before scoring 24 in the fourth to run away with the game.
Eli Pittman had two three-point shots and led Salado with 19 points.
Josh Goings hit three three-pointers on his way to scoring 13 points.

Gatesville 32

Salado Eagles doubled up on Gatesville on the second day of the tournament, shutting them down completely in the fourth to win 64-32 on Dec. 6.
The Eagles started slowly with Gatesville taking a 15-12 lead at the end of the first. But Salado got hot in the second as Eli Pittman hit six-of-eight free throws to score 12 in the period and lead the Eagles to a 23-point second period and 35-20 halftime lead.
Salado extended the lead to 52-34 at the end of the third before shutting out Gatesville 12-0 in the fourth for the final score of 64-32.
Pittman led all scorers with 17 points, though he sat out the fourth.
Also scoring for Salado were Noah Mescher, 8 points, Josh Goings, 8 points, Peyton Miller, 8 points, Caleb Self, 7 points, Latrell Jenkins, 4 points, Austin Abel, 3 points, and Reece Brown, 2 points.
Rosebud-Lott 34

The Eagles breezed past Rosebud-Lott 54-34 in their second game of the day on Dec. 6.
The Cougars were able to keep close in the first as Salado held a 10-9 lead. But the Eagles scored 19 points in the second for a 29-17 halftime lead.
They led 41-30 after three before extending the lead in the fourth.
Austin Abel hit six three-pointers, all in the first half, to lead the scoring for Salado with 18 points. Cade Scallin followed with 13 points.
Also scoring for Salado were Reece Brown, 9 points, Latrell Jenkins, 5 points, Peyton Miller, 3 points, Josh Goings, 3 points, Noah Mescher, 2 points and Caleb Self, 1 point.
Thorndale 44

Usually slow to start, Salado jumped out to a 16-7 first quarter lead over Thorndale in the championship game, going on to win 66-44 on Dec. 7.
The Eagles extended the lead to 31-21 at the half and 47-35 after three.
Eli Pittman led Salado with 24 points, half of them coming on three-pointers.
Cade Scallin followed with 16 points, while Peyton Miller scored 10 points.
