Services for Ed Care, 75 will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at Grace Presbyterian Church, Temple. Naomi Ingrim will be officiating.
Care died on Sunday, October 21, 2012 in an extended care facility in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Ed and his wife Lorraine recently moved to the Corpus Christi area after living 16 years in Salado.
Ed Care was born on March 31, 1937 in Toronto, Canada to Richard Leslie and Florence Woodhouse Care.
He married Lorraine on Oct. 8, 1960 in East Providence, R.I.
He was an auditor with the federal government for 20 years. After that, he worked for 16 years for the Bank of Boston before retiring to Salado to be close to his daughters and grandchildren.
While in Salado, Ed was an active member of the Salado Lions Club and the Salado Masonic Lodge. Ed was a 50-year Mason and Past Master of Saint Matthews Masonic Lodge in Andover, Massachusetts. He was a Salado Mentor, working every year with Salado school children.
Ed is survived by his wife of 52 years Lorraine and two daughters, Debra and her husband Steven Sather, of Salado, and Pam Care of Salado. He is also survived by his grand-children, Max Care, Jeffrey Care, Tristan Bragg, Ellie Bragg and Townes Sather, all of Salado.
Ed will be buried at a later date at Salado Cemetery with a Masonic burial service.
