To the Editor:
The Election is over, now what?
The people have spoken! Let’s agree that we can disagree. We all have our opinions and positions as to the direction the Village should take. But, let us all agree, that with those opposing positions, we express only the facts and the truth. No more “he said this”, “she said that” or “did you hear” this latest rumor? Especially now that “we all” know that Executive Session is not only legal, but in certain cases required by law. No more talk that our city leaders are meeting secretly behind closed doors.
Let us also agree to end the personal attacks on our elected officials as if they are operating like the underground mafia. These folks do this as volunteer elected officials, “no pay” and on their personal time. A Thank You for your service would be welcoming!
Having worked with all of our elected officials are matters that concern the well being of our Village, I can say with without a doubt (and say it proudly,) “They do have what is in the best interest of the Village, foremost in their thoughts and actions”. This does not mean that a rubber stamp is given to them, but we elected them with that understanding. They, in their educated and researched judgment, do what is in the best interest of the Village.
The elction is over, now what?
The answer lies with each of us. Let’s stand together and move this wonderful historic Village into the future, with the respect and love for Salado’s history we all have. This has been done all across this nation, why not Salado?
