Despite COVID-19, early voting has been heavy at the Salado polling locations. Voting  beganOct. 13 and continue until Oct. 30.

Early voting will be conducted in person each weekday at the following locations in Bell County.     

Belton – Bell County Courthouse Annex, 550 East 2nd Ave

Killeen – Bell County Annex, 304 Priest Drive

Killeen -Killeen Community Center, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd

Temple – Bell County Annex, 205 East Central Ave

Salado – Salado Church of Christ Activity Center, 225 North Church Street, Salado.

Harker Heights – Parks & Recreation Center, 307 Millers Crossing 

Early voting hours are these: 

  Oct. 13-16:  8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Oct. 17 and 24: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

Oct. 18 and 25: Noon-5 p.m.

Oct. 19-23: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Oct. 26-Oct. 30: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

On election day, Bell County voters may vote 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 3 at any of the 41 election sites in the county. They can be found here: https://www.bellcountytx.com/departments/elections/polling_locations.php

The ballots will be full as there are Federal, State, County and Local races up and down the ballot. 

Down the ballot from the National and State Races are the Village of Salado aldermen election, the Salado ISD Board of Trustees election, a proposal for creation of Bell County Emergency Services District #1 and a Local Option Election for the sale of alcohol.

Residents living within the 116 sq. miles currently served by the Salado Volunteer Fire Department will consider the following proposal: “The creation of Bell County Emergency Services District No. 1 and Adoption of a Tax on the Ad Valorem Property Situated in Said District at a Rate Not to Exceed Ten Center ($0.10) on the One Hundred Dollars ($100) Valuation for the Support of the District.”

Residents of Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 will consider the following local option for “The legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only.” This would allow the sale of alcohol for off-premise consumption at retail stores (grocery and convenience).

Four candidates have filed for three three-year terms on the Salado Independent School District. Those voters can vote for none, one, two, or three. Candidates in ballot order are these: Savannah Hennig, Troy Byrd, Troy Smith, Kim Bird. 

Voters in the Village of Salado can cast their ballots in the Village Alderman election. Two two-year terms on the board are up for election. There are three candidates in ballot order:  Jason Howard, Donald Krause, Paul Cox. Voters can vote for none, one, or two of the candidates.
