Salado Museum and College Park will host its third annual Hickory Golf Tournament Nov. 5-6 at the Mill Creek Golf Course, designed by golf architect Robert Trent Jones II.
Entry is $150 per player. A set of hickory golf clubs may be rented for the tournament for $35. Clubs can be shared with other players. A commemorative ball of the tournament in a case is $5 while a sleeve of golf balls is $40.
Tee time on Nov. 5 will be noon with dinner served after the round. Tee time on Nov. 6 will be at 9 a.m. with lunch to follow.
The golf tournament is being presented in association with the Texas Hickory Golf Association. Hickory Golf enthusiasts collect hickory golf clubs and play in social tournaments in traditional golf clothing (knickers and caps included). They celebrate the history of the game together by working to keep its traditions alive.
“I challenge our local golfers to compete in this tournament,” said Dave Swarthout, executive director of Salado Museum and College Park.
