Come to Salado Public Library to learn about the thousands of e-books and audiobooks now available to Patrons.
This session will focus on books available through Libby and Overdrive.
The Salado Public Library recently joined the E-Read Texas program, giving patrons free online access to more than 17,000 e-books and downloadable audiobooks. E-Read Texas offered by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission that makes electronic books and audiobooks available through the SimplyE app, which is easily downloadable at no cost through an app store. The program was created in 2019 to support digital content for libraries serving small- to medium-sized communities in Texas. There are currently over 180 public libraries from all over the state participating in the program.
The E-Read Texas collection primarily includes fiction and popular non-fiction for adults and young adult audiences. The collection offers a wide variety of materials and even includes titles from bestselling authors like Stephen King, Nora Roberts, and James Patterson, among many others. The collection includes more than 1,900 works published by Texas university presses, such as Texas A&M University Press and the University of Texas Press, that focus on Texas history, geography, nature, and many other topics.
In addition to the 17,000 titles in the E-Read Texas collection, the SimplyE app also includes over 33,000 e-books and audiobooks from OverDrive.
