Funeral services for L.B. Everett, 88, of Salado, were held Aug. 1 at Grace Baptist Church in Salado with Rev. John Warden officiating. Burial followed at the Salado Cemetery.
Everett died July 28 at his home in Salado.
He was born in Killeen on July 3, 1919, the son of Squire Lee Everett and Jewel L. Fuller Everett. He married Dovie Evetts on May 28, 1941 in Topsy.
Everett served in the U.S. Navy, as a cook during World War II. He worked for many years in Salado, running the gas stations, Exxon and opening the Mobil. He was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church for 27 years.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Dovie Jewell Everett, of Salado; four sons, Lee Evrett Jr. of Nolanville, Jimmie Lee Everett of Bryan, Donnie Ray Everett of Katy and Ronnie Dean Everett of Cedar Knob; three daughters Wilma Vrabel of Salado, Janie Seiter of Belton and Ruth Ann Shumate of Salado, 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grand-children. Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 5798 FM 2484, Salado, TX 76571.
