Funeral services held for James ‘Jim’ Falkner

Funeral services for James “Jim” C. Falkner, 88, of Salado, were held July 1 at the First Baptist Church in Salado, with Rev. Randy Carder officiating. Burial followed at the Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.

Falkner died June 29 at a Temple hospital.

He was born in Waco to Mordis and Jessie Falkner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the K-9 Corps during WWII. He was a dog show judge for many years, judging at shows in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Falkner lived in Dallas before retiring to Salado 20 years ago. He was a member of the Salado Village Artists and the Salado Lions Club. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Salado.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Falkner, of Salado. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Salado, 210 S. Main St., Salado, TX 76571.
