Spc. Frank Jackson Schreiber
Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died January 14, 2010 from a gunshot wound. Spc. Frank Jackson Schreiber, 22, of Salemburg, North Carolina was pronounced deceased at his off-post residence in Copperas Cove by Justice of the Peace Frank Price.
Spc. Schreiber joined the military in April 2006 as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. He was assigned to 697th Engineer Company, 62nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade since October 2009.
Schreiber deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from April 2008 to July 2009.
Schreiber’s decorations and awards include the Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
