Geneva Aiken

Services for Geneva Aiken will be 10:30 a.m. Oct. 20 First Baptist Church of Salado with Rev. Bobby Ellis officiating.  A visitation will take place 6-8 p.m. Oct. 19 at Broecker Funeral Home, Salado.

She passed away October 14, 2012 after a lengthy illness.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1922, the daughter of Nick England and Ezell McLean England of Prairie Dell, and had one brother, Ray L. England, all of whom preceded her in death.

She graduated from Salado High School, attending the University of Texas at Austin, and was a past president of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.  

She was married to Gary Dameron Aiken of Salado on June 20, 1946 until his passing in 1972.  She is survived by two children, Jim Aiken of Burleson, TX and Susan Aiken McKinney of Austin, TX, their spouses, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a niece, Anne Sloan of Salado.

She was employed as the general manager of Stagecoach Inn Properties in Salado for more than 30 years.  She was an active member of Prairie Dell Baptist Church, the board of the Central Texas Area Museum, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and the Salado Ladies Auxiliary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Texas Area Museum, 423 S. Main St., Salado or Prairie Dell Baptist Church, 507 Prairie Dell Church Road, 21330 State Hwy 95 #50, Holland, TX, 76534.
