CTC Patio Café offers German cuisine this Friday
The Central Texas College (CTC) Culinary Arts Department will offer a German cuisine this Friday, November 2, for its Patio Café Cuisine Nights Dining Experience. Dinner will be served from 6 – 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center (Bldg. 108).
The menu includes an appetizer, soup and salads: frikadellan spiebchen (meatballs) – a German meatball made with ground beef and garnished with cheddar cheese, cherry tomatoes and sour pickles – $4.50; blumen kohl (cauliflower soup) – a hearty soup made of cauliflower florets, heavy cream and a pinch of nutmeg – $6.50; krabben spuiat salat (shrimp and spinach salad) – $11.50; and a house salad – $3.75.
The featured entrees are rindsrouladen (rolled beef steak) – $11; chicken cordon bleu – $13; and jagerschnitzel with bacon mushroom gravy – $11.50. All entrees are served with a choice of two side dishes. Diners can choose from spatzle, kartoffelpfannkuchen (potato pancakes), garlic-grilled asparagus and rotkohl mit apflen (braised red cabbage with apples). Additional entrees are $1.50 each.
For dessert, choose either the Black Forest torte ($4) or apricot cream puff swans ($3.50).

The Patio Café is run by students in the culinary/hospitality program. The students select the menu items, prepare the menu and serve the meals. Through the program, students can earn an associate in applied science degree – hospitality management with four areas of specialization.
