Loss makes it 20 straight for Eagles
Giddings Buffaloes ran over the Salado Eagles 62-6 Oct. 16 to hand Salado its eighth loss of the year and 20th straight loss under Coach Brent Graham. Salado gets a much-needed week off before the Eagles travel to LaGrange to face the #2 Pirates.
Giddings scored three first quarter touchdowns and five in the second quarter to take a 55-0 halftime lead.
Giddings quarterback Kyle Jones hit four different receivers for five TD passes in the first half. He had TD passes of two yards to Jason James, 26 yards and 35 yards to Chebastian Taylor and 41 yards to Hunter Jaehne.
Giddings had 249 yards passing and 172 yards rushing as the Buffaloes added three rushing touchdowns. Fabian Becerra had a three yard touchdown while Tavion Page had TD runs of 25 and 23 yards.
With replacement players on the field for the second half, Giddings scored a defensive touchdown in the third quarter on a 42 yard fumble return by Reed Walther.
Ryan Kyburz connected with Drew Dobbins for a 45 yard touchdown in the fourth quarter for Salado.
The Eagles had 27 yards rushing and 67 yards passing.
