All I-35 closings through Salado canceled for the week

SALADO – I-35 closings through Salado that were originally for earlier last week and rescheduled for Sunday, May 10, Monday, May 11 and Tuesday May 12 have again been rescheduled to Tuesday, May 12, Wednesday, May 13 and Thursday May 14. But WAIT, there’s MORE: All of the mainlane closings for this week have been canceled, as of 12:30 p.m. May 12.

TxDOT announced at 12:30 p.m. May 12 that all of the closings for this week through Salado have been canceled due to the continuing rains.Tuesday May 12 and Wednesday May 13 — CANCELED

All I-35 southbound mainlanes will be closed through Salado on Tuesday, May 11 from 10 PM – 7 AM and on Wednesday, May 12 from 7 PM – 7 AM, to allow crews to work in the median area. All southbound traffic will exit at #286 (FM 2484) and reenter I-35 just south of N. Main St./FM 2268. See Map 1 (please note that Map 1 still states Sunday, May 10 and Monday, May 11 even though it has been changed to Tuesday, May 12 and Wednesday May 13).

The FM 2484 bridge will be closed to crossing traffic and the westbound North Main Street crossing will also be closed, in order to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic. Eastbound traffic on FM 2484 will be detoured to Williams Road to the southbound frontage road and cross at Thomas Arnold Road. Westbound traffic on FM 2484 and North Main Street will go north on the frontage road and turn around at Amity Road.

Thursday, May 14 — CANCELED

All I-35 northbound mainlanes will be closed through Salado on Thursday, May 14 from 7 PM – 7 AM, to allow crews to work in the median area. All northbound traffic will exit at #285 (N. Main St./FM 2268) and reenter I-35 just north of FM 2484. See Map #2 (Please note that map still says Tuesday, May 12 even though closing is rescheduled for Thursday, May 14).
The FM 2484 bridge and the N. Main St. crossing will again be closed to all traffic. Eastbound traffic on FM 2484 will be detoured south on the southbound frontage road and cross at Thomas Arnold Road. Westbound traffic on FM 2484 and North Main Street will go north on the frontage road and turn around at Amity Road.
