Work crews are building a detour on the east side of interstate
James Construction crews are building temporary detour of I-35 mainlanes between Thomas Arnold and FM 2484 to divert traffic off of I-35 onto these temporary lanes.
Once the detour lanes are built in the current right-of-way of the project and between the current mainlanes and the east side access road, James Construction crews will be able to fully concentrate their efforts on building the mainlanes from FM 2484 to Thomas Arnold including the new Salado Plaza Dr./Williams Rd. overpass.
This construction will include the destruction of the current overpass on the north end of Main St., (in front of Cowboy’s Barbecue).
Salado Plaza Dr. will extend under the interstate mainlanes to the west side access road and connect to Williams Rd. at West Village Rd. The underpass of I-35 in that location will include turn-around lanes for both access roads and adequate turning lanes onto Main Street.
Meanwhile, Wheeler Coatings work crews are working on the resurfacing of Salado Plaza Dr. with the chip and seal project.
Work crews are also working on Thomas Arnold Road from the access road east to Main St.
Thomas Arnold Road from the I-35 overpass east to Main Street has been closed today (July 30) while James Construction work crews work on that section of the creek.
According to our source, the road section was closed after an accident occurred there. It reopened late this afternoon.
James Construction crews have put in framework for curbing there. Equipped with the right protective gear, no accidents have been recorded. You can go to California Industrial Rubber Co. to learn more about their products.
