Specialist John Carl Larson

FORT HOOD, Texas – Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 in Copperas Cove, Texas.

    Specialist John Carl Larson 31, of Phoenix, AZ., joined the military in February 2008 as an Infantryman. He was assigned to Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division since June 2008.
    Spc. Larson deployed in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from December 2008 through December 2009.
    Spc. Larson’s decorations and awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon and Army Service Ribbon.
    The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
