June Campbell
June Campbell, 103, of Salado, formerly of Henderson, Texas, passed away October 20, 2011, at the home of her daughter in Salado.
She was born in Pine Hill, Texas on November 18, 1907, to Dr. John Franklin and Virginia Holleman Rousseau.
She graduated from Beckville High School and attended Kidd Key College, a then prestigious music college for young women in Sherman, Texas.
On December 23, 1933, she married Lloyd Walton Campbell. They were married for 54 years. They lived in various locations around Texas while Lloyd was employed with the Texas Highway Department. They settled in Austin, living there 25 years before moving to Marshall, and then Henderson, Texas.
Wherever they lived, June taught music in church preschools and kindergartens.
She was a member of the Salado United Methodist Church.
She is preceded by her husband, her parents and all her brothers and sister. She is survived by her daughters Patty Campbell of Salado and Kay Campbell of Fayetteville, Arkansas, her grandchildren Taylor Tisdale of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Traci Holmes of Monte Vista, Colorado and four great grandchildren.
Services will be held in Henderson, Texas at a later date.
Broecker Funeral Home in Salado is in charge of arrangements.
