Salado JV Eagles beat the Giddings JV Buffaloes 34-14 in a home game Sept. 12.
Max Gist connected with King Tobe in the first quarter.
Halfway through the second, Gift connected with Tobe for a 26-yard touchdown.
The next possession, Gift hit Hays Ramsey for a 50-yard touchdown.
With two minutes left in the half, Gift hit Jackson Tipton for a 65-yard touchdown.
Owen Piatt had a two-yard touchdown run in the third.
Angel Castenada and John Swanner had fumble recoveries in the third to stop Giddings momentum.
Hudson Hawkins recovered an onside kick in the second to give the offense an extra possession.
Martin Adams stopped a Giddings drive by breaking up a fourth down pass late in the game.
Outstanding Offensive Players: Max Gist, King Tobe, Hays Ramsey, Jackon Tipton, Owen Piatt.

“The team has put in the work both in the early mornings and after school and is starting to see the benefits of that work. I thought we played complimentary football against Giddings,” Coach Justin Edmondson said. “We had big plays offensively, defensively and on Special teams that allowed us to win the game.”
The JV Eagles are 1-2 and host Academy Sept. 19.

Salado Eagle ninth graders shut out the visiting Giddings ninth grade football team 21-0 Sept. 12 to improve to 3-0.
Ryder Balmos connected with Jackson Tracy for a touchdown in the second quarter. Wyatt Tipping made the extra point.
Zack Adcox scored on a six-yard run in the third. The extra point failed for a 13-0 lead.
Randy Rogers scored from one yard out to give Salado a 19-0 lead. Fabian Burleson caught a pass from Balmos for a two-point conversion in the third quarter.
Adcox led the offense.
Outstanding defensive players were linebacker Ullses Soto, defensive tackle Landon Oswald, safety Balmos with an interception and cornerback Chase Adams with an interception.
“The team is continuing to improve as we have battled through injuries and changes on both sides of the ball,” Coach Augie Ramirez said.

Salado eighth grade A football team shut out their opponents from Giddings 30-0 Sept. 12.
Romand Howard scored on a 42-yard run and added the extra point for an 8-0 lead in the first quarter.
Norman found Easton Jones for a 22 yard TD pass in the second quarter, but the PAT failed for a 14-0 halftime lead.
Howard scored on a 14 yard run in the third quarter. Jones added the two-point conversion for a 22-0 lead.
Chase Anderson scored on a seven yard run in the fourth. Tristan Oliver added the two-point conversion for the final lead of 30-0.

Salado seventh grade A team lost to Giddings 28-14 on Sept. 12.
Hector Alvarez took the opening kick-off back for a 70-yard touchdown. The extra-point try failed for Salado’s only lead of the game, 6-0.
The Buffaloes then ran off 20 unanswered points with a touchdown in each of the three periods to lead 20-6 before Ethan Barnes scored for Salado on a 20-yard run. Wesley Law made the two-point conversion to narrow the lead to 20-14.
Giddings scored again for the final lead of 28-14.

Salado eighth grade B beat the Forbes eighth grade B team 44-14 Sept. 12.
Noah Sifuentes scored on a 45-yard run. Holt Peterson made the two-point conversion.
Peterson scored on a 35-yard run with Sifuentes adding the two-point conversion, 14-0.
Hunter Harrison scored from three yards out but the conversion failed, 22-0.
Chase McCann picked off a pass and returned it 47 yards to score. Sifuentes added two for a 30-0 lead.
Forbes scored to make it 30-6.
Holt Peterson returned an interception 23 yards, bu the two-point try failed, giving Salado a 36-6 lead.
Forbes scored and converted to close to 36-14.
Niko Mendoza scored on a five yard run. Jonathan Killborn added the two-point conversion for the final lead of 44-14.
