Salado breezes past Comfort 28-0
Salado JV shutout the Comfort 28-0 on Sept. 1 to improve to 2-0 on the year.
The Eagles scored three touchdowns in the second quarter.
The first TD came from the defense when Hunter Bales caused a fumble deep in Comfort’s territory, returned by Rustin Hale for a 12 yard TD. The two-point conversion failed, giving Salado a 6-0 lead.
Samuel Brown scored on a 50-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion failed, giving Salado a 12-0 lead in the second.
Brandon McEndree followed with a 59-yard touchdown run in the second. Brown added two points on the point-after run for a 20-0 halftime lead.
Wesley Quinn scored a four yard touchdown run in the fourth. He followed it with a successful conversion run for the final lead of 28-0.
Outstanding offensive players were Samuel Brown, Wesley Quinn, Kyle Saunders and Syardney Blisard.
Outstanding defensive players were Hunter Bales, Rustin Hale and Garrett Knight.
The Eagles travel to Hyde Park to play at 6 p.m. Sept. 8.
Salado freshmen did not play last week. They will play the Taylor freshmen at 5 p.m. Sept. 8 in a home game.
