Salado JV Red Lady Eagles swept the competition at the Manor JV Tournament to take home the championship trophy.

Kenslee Konarik, Carci Pryor and Harley Drouillard were named to the All-Tournament team.

JV Red 37

Elgin JV 14

Salado JV girls held Elgin to 6 points in the first half and 14 total in their 37-14 first-round win on Nov. 21.

Drouillard led Salado with 10 points in the game. Konarik followed with 8 points. Also scoring were Reese Witmer, 7 points, Pryor and Marissa Lancaster, 4 points each, and Alyson Jennewine and Angel Van DePlas, 2 points each.

JV Red 33

Manor 22

Salado JV Red scored 10 points in the first and 11 points in the third to beat Manor in the second round of play on Nov. 21. Salado held on for a 33-22 win.

Konarik led the girls with 16 points. Also scoring were Witmer, 6 points, Jennewine and Lancaster, 4 points each and Van  de Plas, 2 points.

Elgin JV 15

Salado JV Red beat Elgin in the third round of play on Nov. 23 39-15. Salado led 14-3 after the first and 19-7 at the half. The girls outscored Elgin 14-4 in the third before coasting to 6-4 in the fourth.

Konarik and Jennewine both scored 10 points for the Lady Eagles.

Also scoring were Witmer, 5 points, Drouillard, Lancaster and Van de Plas, 4 points each, and Rylee Corn, 2 points.

Manor JV 39

Salado JV Red beat Manor in the final round 47-39 on Nov. 23 to earn the championship trophy and go undefeated. 

Koarik scored a season-high 22 points to lead Salado. Witmer followed with 11 points.

Also scoring for the girls were Pryor, 8 points, Drouillard, 5 points, and Lancaster, 1 point.

Grandview 23

Salado JV Lady Eagles beat the Grandview Lady Zebras on Nov. 19.

In a low scoring first half, Salado held a 16-13 lead. The girls outscored Grandview 11-5 in the third quarter and 13-5 in the fourth to easily win the game.

Konarik led the girls with 15 points, scoring 11 in the second half. She shot five-of-six at the free throw line.

Also scoring for Salado were Dourillard, 9 points, Witmer, 7 points, Jennewine, 4 points, Lancaster and Van de Plaz, 2 points each and Pryor, 1 point.

Lorena JV 44

Salado JV Red opened their basketball season with a 44-20 loss to Lorena JV Lady Leopards on Nov. 12.

Droulliard led the scoring for Salado with 8 points. Also scoring were Konarik, 7 points, Van de Plaz, 4 points and Jennewine, 1 point.
