Staff Sergeant Kelly David Bangle
Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died Dec.14 near Kouma Lake.
Staff Sgt. Kelly David Bangle, 30, whose home of record is listed as Whetstone, Ariz., entered the military in September 2003 as a signals intelligence analyst. He arrived at Fort Hood in March 2011 and was assigned to Company A, 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, since March 2012.
Bangle deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from March 2006 to March 2007. He also deployed in support of Operation New Dawn from April 2011 to November 2011.
Bangle’s awards and decorations include two Army Commendation Medals, three Army Good Conduct Medals, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Iraq Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Driver and Mechanic Badge Wheeled Vehicle.
Circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.
