Kenneth Ray Spradlin was born to Doris Howard and Raymond Harley Spradlin on May 7, 1937 in Okolona, AR.
He passed away at his home in Salado on July 24, 2016 surrounded by his family. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. July 28 at Broecker Funeral Home. Services will be at the First Baptist Church 11 a.m. July 29 with Dr. Travis Burleson officiating. Burial will be in Arkansas.
After graduating from Okolona High School in 1955, he attended Henderson State University, graduating in 1959. He attended ROTC and graduated as a Lieutenant in the U. S. Army. He served in the military as a Criminologist until August, 1965 while stationed at Ft. Hood.
Kenneth Spradlin met Rachel Ann Walker in Temple; they married and moved to Dallas in 1962. They moved to Tyler and in 1985 the Spradlins purchased a home in Salado.
Kenneth entered his career in insurance, becoming a claims adjuster and later owned his own agency with Farmers Insurance Co. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Salado.
Survivors include Rachel, his wife of 54 years, three sons: Blaine and wife Shannon Spradlin of McGregor, Kirk and Cathleen Spradlin of Salado and Keith and Shelly Spradlin of Lewisville.
Kenneth and Rachel were blessed with 12 grandchildren.
