Salado overcame an early deficit to beat Cameron 5-4 in the first round of gold bracket play on March 5.

Cameron scored three runs in the top of the first thanks to a two-run homer by Kenzie Wimmer, a triple by Qua Workman and an RBI single by Brianna Hatter.

Salado tied the game in the bottom of the frame, after two outs had been recorded by Cameron. Rebecca Dockray singled. Madeline Murray reached on a dropped third strike. Payton Dreitz doubled to score Dockray. Meagan Hill singled to deep right to score two runners.

Cameron took the lead in the top of the second after Karla Martinez tripled to deep right and scored on a ground-out to second.

Malory Schattle singled and Jenna Calder homered to give Salado a 5-4 lead after the second.

Schattle singled, going to second on a single by Dockray, scoring on a single by Murray in the fourth for the final score of 6-4.
