The Lady Eagles coasted in the second half of their game against the Lorena Lady Leopards, holding on for a slim margin of 41-39 on Nov. 12.

The girls ran off with a first quarter lead of 12-4 and led 24-29 at the half. Salado extended its lead to 32-24 going into the fourth. Lorena outscored Salado 15-9 in the final period.

Kaia Philen led Salado, scoring 13 points on three-of-eight shooting from the field and seven-of-eight at the free throw line. She also had five rebounds and deflected three passes.

Amanda Cantu followed with nine points. She shot two-of-five 3-pointers and grabbed four rebounds and a steal. 

Katie Law was four-of-six at the free throw line, scoring 6 points and grabbing seven rebounds.

Also scoring for the Lady Eagles were Jason Goings, 4 points, four rebounds and two steals; Maddy Wade, 4 points and a rebound; Reese Preston 3 points and two rebounds and Lorena Perez, 2 points and 10 rebounds.
