Salado Lady Eagles beat Academy Lady Bees in a home game 55-44 on Nov. 26, the only game they played over the Thanksgiving break. A game against Crawford was canceled last week.

Salado scored 20 points in the first quarter, most of them coming from Kaia Philen beyond the arc as she hit four three-pointers in the first. The girls held Academy to 13 points in the first quarter and 19 points in the first half as Salado took a 30-19 halftime lead.

Salado led 39-28 after three and scored 16 in the final period to hang on to the 11-point lead.

Junior Lorena Perez led Salado with 19 points, followed by Philen, who scored 17 points.

Also scoring for Salado were Abby Rembert, 6 points all from three-pointers, Priscilla Torczynski, 5 points, Amanda Cantu, Reese Preston and Katie Law, 2 points.

JV Red

Salado Lady Eagles JV Red beat Academy 26-15 on Nov. 26.

Salado scored 11 points in the first, but just 2 points in the second and 2 in the third. Meanwhile, Academy JVscored 8 points in the first half and 6 in the third to trail by just one going into the final quarter when Salado outscored the Lady Bees 11-1 for the win.

Reese Witmer led the girls with 10 points, followed by Harley Drouillard, 6 points, Kenslee Konarik, 4 points,  and Alyson Jennewine and Darci Pryor, 2 points each.
