Salado Lady Eagles scored 18 points in the third quarter while holding the Connally Lady Cadets to 10 to take the lead and hang on for a 57-48 win on Dec. 10.

Salado held an 18-15 lead after the first but Connally outscored the Lady Eagles 18-14 in the second for a slim 33-32 halftime lead. Salado outscored Connally 18-10 to take a 50-43 lead. In a low scoring fourth, Salado extended its lead by outscoring Connally 7-5 for the 57-48 win.

Kaia Philen led Salado with 15 points, shooting 56 percent from the field on nine shots. She also hit both of her free throw attempts. Philen had two rebounds, two assists, four steals and a deflection.

Reese Preston followed with 8 points, shooting 38 percent from the field. She also had five rebounds, an assist and a steal.

Katie Law also had 8 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and an assist.

Also scoring for the Lady Eagles were Kenslee Konarik, 6 points, six rebounds, an assist and a steal; Abby Rembert, 6 points and a rebound; Lorena Perez, 5 points and a dominating 20 rebounds, an assist, four steals, and a deflection; Amanda Cantu, 5 points, six rebounds, two assists and five steals; Janiah Del Rio, 2 points, two rebounds and a steal and Priscilla Torczynski, 2 points and an assist.
