Lady Eagles crushed Jarrell in the first game of pool play on March 4, winning 9-0.

Bailey Tindell allowed two hits and walked one, striking out seven Lady Cougars to get the win for Salado. No Jarrell player got beyond second base; Haley Taber hit a double in the second but was left stranded there. Hope Arnold hit a single in the fourth for Jarrell.

Salado scored two runs in the second. Meagan Hill hit a one-out double and went to third on a single by Tindell. Stephanie Mancilla hit a shot to left to score both runners.

Salado added four runs in the third with singles by Rebecca Dockray, Madeline Murray, Tindell and Mancilla. After Tindell singled, she stole second, third and home to score. Meanwhile Murray stole home and Hill, who walked, stole third and home.

Malory Schattle led off the bottom of the fourth with a single and then stole her way around the bases. Dockray singled and Murray bunted. Payton Dreitz singled to deep right to score both runners.
