Salado Lady Eagles are Area Champs in basektball after breezing to a 46-38 win over Lamar Fulshear last night. They will face the winner of the Boerne-Royal game early next week.

Starters for Salado spent time on the bench as the Lady Eagles took an 18-3 first quarter lead. Lamar Fulshear scored the first 3 points of the game, but that was the only time they led. 

The Lady Eagles led by 30-13 at the half. Lamar Fulshear outscored Salado 10-6 in the third and 15-10, but the end result was never in doubt.

Katie Law and Kaia Philen led Salado with 12 points each. 

Law was two-of-12 from the field but shot eight-of-10 free throws. She also grabbed 20 rebounds and three steals.

Philen was three-of-12 from the field and six-of-eight on free throws. She had eight rebounds, three steals, two blocks and seven deflections.

Also scoring for the Lady Eagles were Amanda Cantu, 7 points, three rebounds, four assists, two steals, a block and a deflection; Priscilla Torczynski, 6 points, two rebounds and two steals; Jasey Goings, 3 points, two rebounds, a steal and a deflection; Lorena Perez, 2 points, three rebounds, an assist, a steal; Maddy Wade, 2 points, Abby Rembert, 1 point, a rebound, two assists and a steal and Reese Preston, 1 point, three rebounds and a deflection.
