Salado Lady Eagles earned their first district win tonight, getting past the Llano Lady Jackets in four.
The hometown girls lost the first set 25-19 but then dominated Llano 25-12, 25-17 and 25-14.
Salado had 11 aces on the night with Natalie Fort leading the team with four. Also scoring aces were Brettney Fuller, Katie Robinson and Mikaela Heiner, two each and Lindy Martin, one ace.
Victoria DeKay proved to be a monster in attacking the net. She scored 21 of the Lady Eagles’ 45 kills on the night. Also scoring kills were Robinson, nine, Mariah Vaillancourt, six, Brianna Washington, four, Martin, three and Fuller, two.
Washington led the girls with three blocks, followed by Vaillancourt, two, and Martin, one.
Martin had 26 assists on the night while Fuller had 17 and Fort had two.
Robinson led Salado with 10 digs for the defense. Also recording digs were Martin, four, Heiner, three, and Fullner, one.
