Malory Schattle scored the winning run on the road against Taylor April 10 on a sacrifice fly to deep center by Jenna Calder in the sixth inning.
The win puts Salado in fourth place in district with a 3-3 record (12-6 overall) behind and #10 Burnet (15-3-2, 5-1) and #8 Liberty Hill (18-3, 5-1) and #20 Lampasas (18-3, 4-2). Burnet eeked out a 2-1 win over Liberty Hill April 7 to hold the edge at the top of district despite a second-round loss to Lampasas 2-0 on April 10.
Salado scored three runs on six hits while Taylor had two runs on four hits against Meagan Hill. Hill struck out 12 of the 28 batters she faced over the seven innings.
Taylor took the early lead in the bottom of the first, scoring two runs. Teanna Lucio reached first on an error by first baseman Payton Dreitz. She stole second and scored on a double by Nicolette Neidig. Neidig scored on a single by Libby Fischer before Hill recorded her third striekout of the inning.
Hill allowed only five Taylor batters to reach base over the rest of the game.
Salado knotted the score at 2-2 in the top of the third. After Taylor had recorded two outs, Hill singled. She went to third on a single by Kristen Oakes who then stole second. Schattle scored both runners with a double to center field and then stole third, where she was left stranded.

Salado scored eight runs in the second and 13 in the third of a mercy-shortened road win over the Llano Lady Jackets on April 7.
Cece Cantu led off the second by reaching on an error. Jenna Calder singled by was thrown out trying to reach second. Payton Dreitz went to first on an error by the second baseman that allowed Cantu to score. Dreitz for was caught trying to steal second for the second out.
Madeline Murray singled and Martin walked before Meagan Hill emptied the bases with a home run. Kristen Oakes walked and advanced on a single by Malory Schattle. She scored on an error by the catcher that allowed Tindell to reach. An errant catch by the first baseman allowed Cantu to reach base and Tindell to score. Calder doubled but was thrown out going to third.
Salado added 13 runs in the third. Hill hit a two-run double, scoring on a single by Oakes. Schattle doubled and scored on a double by Tindell. Two walks loaded the bases before Dreitz hit a single followed by a double by Jaylin. Oakes hit an RBI single and Schattle cleared the bases with a three-run homer run before the final out was recorded.
