Salado had 14 hits in the Lady Eagles’ 7-4 win over White Oak in the gold bracket of the Franklin Tournament March 5.

Malory Schattle led off the game with a triple, scoring on a homer by Jenna Calder  for a 2-0 lead.

But White Oak tied the game in the bottom of the first with a single by Jessica Patak, a bunt by Kara Carter and sacrifice grounders by Kaylynn Lorrison and Casee Walker.

Abbie James walked and Stephanie Mancilla bunted in the second, scoring on a triple to right by Schattle. Schattle scored on a single by Calder for a 5-2 lead.

White Oak closed the gap to one run in the fourth. Maci Teague, Kinsey Smith and Alexis Herrera singled to load the bases. Patak singled to knock in Teague and Herrera stole home to bring the score to 5-4.

Salado extended the lead in the fifth. Meagan Hill led off with a single and went to second on a bunt by Bailey Tindell. She stole third and scored on a single by Stephanie Mancilla. Mancilla scored on a single by Schattle.
